Vibration of a stretched circular membrane, Bessel modes

Source:
Blevins / Bessel functions
Tolerance:
3%

Problem statement

Geometry
Circular membrane of radius a, clamped along the edge.
Material
Uniform surface tension T and areal density; wave speed c = √(T/(ρt)).
Boundary conditions
Zero transverse displacement on the boundary.
Measured quantity
Frequencies f = α_mn·c/(2πa), α_mn the zeros of J_m (fundamental 2.4048).

Script

Lands with the scripting engine (see Documentation) — this setup will be runnable from commands, no manual rebuild needed.
