Problem statement
- Geometry
- Hemispherical shell, radius 10, thickness 0.04, with an 18° hole at the pole; a quarter is modeled.
- Material
- Linear-elastic isotropic material, E = 6.825×10⁷, ν = 0.3.
- Boundary conditions
- Free edges; four alternating radial point loads (±1) spaced 90° apart on the equator.
- Measured quantity
- Radial deflection under a load point.
