Radial/hoop stress under internal pressure, closed-form solution

Source:
Timoshenko, Theory of Elasticity
Tolerance:
1%

Problem statement

Geometry
Thick-walled cylinder with inner radius a and outer radius b (the b/a ratio is a modeling choice for the specific run).
Material
Linear-elastic isotropic material, E and ν as chosen for the run.
Boundary conditions
Uniform internal pressure p; plane strain or axisymmetric.
Measured quantity
Radial and hoop stress σr(r), σθ(r) per the closed-form Lamé/Timoshenko solution, compared across wall thickness.

Script

Lands with the scripting engine (see Documentation) — this setup will be runnable from commands, no manual rebuild needed.

Results comparison

The solver core is still in development — there's no result yet. It'll appear here right after the first run, no retouching.
