Problem statement

Geometry
Prismatic slender beam with a span/height ratio ≥ 16 (transverse shear negligible).
Material
Linear-elastic isotropic material, Young's modulus E and Poisson's ratio ν.
Boundary conditions
Fully fixed at one end; a uniform transverse pressure over the free length.
Measured quantity
Vertical deflection at the free end, against the closed form δ = qL⁴/(8EI).
