Problem statement

Geometry
Prismatic beam with a low span/height ratio, where the shear contribution to deflection is significant.
Material
Linear-elastic isotropic material, E and ν (shear modulus G = E/[2(1+ν)]).
Boundary conditions
Fully fixed at one end; a transverse tip load.
Measured quantity
Tip deflection against the Timoshenko solution (Euler-Bernoulli term plus the shear correction).
