Problem statement

Geometry
Thick elliptical plate (same in-plane geometry as LE1), thickness 0.6 m.
Material
E = 210 GPa, ν = 0.3.
Boundary conditions
Symmetry conditions on the cut faces, edge normal restraint; uniform pressure 1 MPa on the top face.
Measured quantity
Direct stress σy at point D on the mid-surface.
